The Xi'an High-Tech Industries Development Zone welcomed the New Year by holding a music concert on Dec 30, bringing an acoustic feast to the audience.

Supported by the Samsung China Semiconductor Co, which is based in the development zone, as well as Gaoxin Property Co, the concert saw the Milan Philharmonic Orchestra from Italy wowing the city with classics such as Nessun dorma and The Blue Danube.

World-renowned erhu virtuoso George Gao's performance of "Butterfly Romance" Suite and Galloping War-Horses was a highlight, while the concert's blend of folk music with symphony also won plenty of cheers.

Founded by music professors of the G. Verdi Conservatoire of Milan in 1983, the Milan Philharmonic Orchestra is esteemed throughout the world.
